Haus Freeze Dry started its adventure to propose a circular economics solution to edible food waste generation of local farmers in Turkey. By completing years of R&D on freeze-dried snack and powder products and freeze dry machine production, we developed a supply chain management model that was handled manually in the beginning. The biggest challenge we were facing was the fact that approximately 20% of the total food produced by local farmers were ending up as edible waste. This situation kept on resulting with farmers going out of business and the increase of market prices on organic and nutritious food products.
We created our freeze dry snacks based on the most nutritious superfood products that were ending up as edible waste due to their unappealing looks and short lifespan.
