İstanbul Aydın University (IAU) is a non-profit foundation university established first in 2003 as a vocational school and reestablished as a university in 2007. IAU has 40000+ students and 6000+ international students from more than 120 countries and offers programs in Social Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences and Medical Sciences under its 17 faculties and schools. IAU aims to equip students with 21st century skills, with the help of qualified teaching staff, up-to-date curricula, foreign language teaching, high-tech facilities and active social life on campus by giving a great importance to professional training. There are more than 3000 academic and administrative staff, 36 research centers, 165 application laboratories and thousands of industry partners at IAU. IAU is the only Turkish university for holding two UNESCO Chairs in Turkey on Education for Sustainable Peace and Cultural Diplomacy, Governance and Education.
IAU has always put a strong emphasis on internationalization and is very active in all aspects of internationalization. For study abroad, IAU offers options under Erasmus+ and bilateral exchange programs based on many cooperation protocols with partner universities. There are also short-term courses available for study abroad. The number of partner institutions, the number of outgoing and incoming students have shown a steady increase in the last three years of the existing exchange programs. IAU is also a founding member and chair of EURAS- Eurasian Universities Union, an affiliate member of EUA- European Universities Association and a member of UNIMED- Mediterranean UniversitiesUnion. IAU has also experience gained from the management of many international academic projects including three Erasmus+ Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education.
